Action Five e.V. (Bonn) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Action Five e.V. (Bonn)
Action five e.V. Bonn is a non-profit non-governmental organization that is supported exclusively by volunteers. The word "five" in the name represents the idea of symbolically spending five percent of one's income or one's time on helping developing countries to achieve sustainability. The seat of the incorporated non-profit organization is in Bonn, where the members also have weekly meetings. At present, the chairpersons are Eva-Maria Käter, Timothy Chukwukelu and Marie-José Franz. == Foundation and aims of the organisation ==
The organisation was founded in 1978. Members of ''Action Five'' work on a voluntary basis and their work is not influenced by religious aims or political ideologies. The goal of the aid projects is to ensure the welfare of the people in the target areas. Apart from administrative costs, which are, according to the organisation's own statements, quite low, all donations go directly to the sponsored projects. ''Action Five'' values individual initiative. Therefore, they don't send their own aid workers to the areas of the sponsored aid projects but keep up contact via letters, emails and telephone calls. The organisation's aid projects are not initiated by ''Action Five Bonn'' themselves, but by locals seeking regional development. According to their homepage, about a hundred donors give between 35.000 and 40.000 euros per annum for chosen projects, for example in Haiti, Nepal and Namibia. Four times a year, the association publishes a newsletter to inform its donors and other interested people about the projects that are being supported.
